I'm going to a Bon Jovi concert this March. Can someone clear some things up?
Alright, I’m new to the concert scene, especially 80’s-00’s bands. I know how a concert works, and all, but could someone clear this up for me.
Bon Jovi is on their Circle tour, and there are about 10 or 12 songs on that album. They’ll be playing them for sure, but will they also play some of their classics, such as Runaway, Wanted Dead or Alive, and It’s My Life? Concerts for bands with fan bases as large as Bon Jovi’s usually are around 3-4 hours, so I’m assuming yes.
Also, don’t tell me that Bon Jovi sucks. I would rather be at a Rush or AC/DC concert, too, but I like Bon Jovi very much.
I know too that Bon Jovi’s audience isn’t very.. ‘rebellious’? Atleast not like Metallica or Iron Maiden, but what should I be alert for? Pot, con-artists, etc..
This probably sounds so naive to all of you, but this would help.
Mhm, I don’t think it’s gonna be 3-4 hours.
2-3 is more likely, and there’ll be lots of the hits for all the casual fans (this tends to be true of all older bands that still play today…)
And no, I doubt they’ll be rebellious. Don’t worry about con artists unless you’re trying to buy tickets from them, and I really wouldn’t recommend it; just buy them online beforehand.
Pot’s at lots of concerts. No biggie, IMO. Nobody’ll force you to smoke it (though if you WANT to smoke some, somebody’ll probably pass it ’round. Still, it’s Bon Jovi, so..I’d think lots of fans aren’t so much the type?)

Bon Jovi crowd will be fine … mostly older folks. There will probably be some pot smoking but you have that pretty much any concert. Many people will be drunk and some will act like fools but they are essentially harmless.
They probably won’t play ALL the songs off the new album but probably more like 5-6. Most of the show will be material off other albums. And I agree with the other poster, no way will the show be 3-4 hours long. Maybe if you count the opening act, but Bon Jovi will probably perform 2, 2.5 hours, max. Even Bruce Springsteen doesn’t play 3 hours these days.
If you’re really interested in what songs they will play, maybe go to Bon Jovi’s official web site or a fan site, often times they will post set lists from other shows on the tour. It may not be exact but it will give you an idea of what songs they have rehearsed and are playing on the tour.

Been Jovi’s crowd show be fine, no rough stuff I’ve been to a couple 80’s glam concerts. I’ve seen poison, cinderella, quite riot… More then likely someone will have pot in there I think its a given at any show nowadays. I’m going to guess show will be two hours long depending on the local noise ordnance’s. Sometimes cities can be strict about that even if its an indoor. I will say they will do a couple songs of the new album plus 95% of their classics. Usually when a tour is called the same name as the album don’t mean they are playing the whole album its just the album they are supporting at the moment. Other than that not much else to worry about.
